Well then, where to begin?
I admire any bride and groom that really put their heart and soul into sourcing unique decor pieces and styling up W-day exactly how they want. Emma and Ant had some simple yet super pretty ideas from huge sheets of draping lace to hanging lampshades over tables and a family made dessert table displayed on old wooden crates. Finding such treasures in charity shops and via ebay means a gorgeous mismatch of unique personalisation on a budget – genius.
The portraits of the couple are absolutely beautiful, blue skies and rolling hills making the perfect backdrop. I couldn’t choose which ones to feature so I basically just selected them all for your Tuesday pleasure.
Enjoy folks!
Emma The Bride: My dress was bought from ebay and didn’t come with a label so I have no idea who it’s made by! I just fell in love with the design and the floral detailing. If anyone knows who makes it I would love to find out! Ant wore a Ted Baker suit and shirt and a tie from Topman.
Townfield Barn and Calver Chapel were the perfect venues for us. We really wanted a rustic outdoorsy feel and this worked out amazingly! Plus it was on the cheap side (!) We decorated the barn in lace sourced from ebay.co.uk and lamp shades that we picked up from charity shops and car boot sales. We also had pretty festoon lighting that we rented.
As we were camping at the venue in a huge field one of our guests lost their car keys (in the field) they were less than happy… The whole wedding party joined in the search for the car keys and eventually they were found. The person who found the keys received a huge round of applause from everyone at the wedding and free drinks all night from the couple who lost their keys! We also had barn dancing that was incredible fun and even got a few of the more introverted guests up to give it a try. We also had a tug of war to decide whether I would take Ant’s surname name or whether he would take mine and become Tony Steele, almost like a character name from a Marvel film!
For dessert we had homemade cakes and cookies from friends and family that we displayed on wooden crates.Mike and Tom our photographers were brilliant and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for something a little bit different from their wedding photography. They really ‘got us’ and our vision for the day. They didn’t really ask us to do anything in particular and we hardly even noticed they were there (in a good way!). Like most people we don’t like having our photograph taken but they made us feel very calm and relaxed with their approach. We were absolutely blown away by the photographs and couldn’t be happier.
